Welcome to the Dahlitz Media Lab. This is the place where I will be analyzing my businesses within the “Dahlitz Media” company banner. There are two main businesses and they are both online publishing strategies. I’ll be looking at different aspects of these businesses in terms of tools, strategies, and mindset to mature these into businesses that can thrive without me, the founder, being “in” the business. Here’s a quick overview…

The Neuropsychotherapist https://www.neuropsychotherapist.com/

(Started in mid 2013, $0 start-up capital)

What is it?

The quintessential publication bridging the gap between science and the practice of psychotherapy for mental health professionals.

What problem does it solve, how and what’s the outcome?

Neuroscience can be very useful to give psychotherapist’s and edge in their clinical practice but it’s hard to understand and time consuming to find the right data and interpret it. The Neuropsychotherapist takes the latest science and delivers it to therapists in a way that they can easily translate the findings into their clinical practice. This helps them to be more brain savvy, effective, and in demand as therapists.
We do this through a monthly digital magazine and website.

Who’s the typical customer?

Caucasian females between 25-44 years old, working as therapists in the mental health industry. They have a graduate education, children and an income between $50-100K.

Traffic

Here’s a snapshot of the traffic since we started tracking it with Quantcast on 22nd of July 2013:

Age of Robots

https://www.ageofrobots.net

(Started in mid 2017, $0 start-up capital)

What is it?

Age of Robots magazine reports on the technology of the Second Machine Age and its impact on our society and psychology. A key focus is the intersection of technology and work—are robots enhancing our capacity to work or replacing human effort? We aim to keep sight of the human advantage in the midst of revolutionary technological change.

What problem does it solve, how and what’s the outcome?

It’s difficult to predict what’s going to happen especially today when technology is changing so quickly and impacting our lives and jobs in dramatic ways. Anticipation of the future is important when we are making decisions for education, business, and life in general. We provide insight into what is happening and apply some foresight to these trends so that our readers can better anticipate the future.
We do this through a bi-monthly digital magazine and website.

Who’s the typical customer?

We are aiming for English speaking adults who are interested in better anticipating the future and who have an interest in current technology trends and how those trends are impacting our psychology and society. These people are typically male in the 20-40 year old range, educated and read similar technology/science magazines like Wired and Scientific American.

Traffic

It is too soon to have established trends in online traffic at this stage.

Stay tuned and I will be deconstructing these businesses and examining each element in a series of blog posts. This will be a longitudinal experiment – we want to analyze what is and isn’t working and implement strategies over a number of years – this will be a long-term blog that I trust will provide an instructive roadmap for other entrepreneurs.
